Five Iranian films sweep awards in Norway

5 Iran movies have bagged awards from the 9th Norway Tamil Fimfest.

The 5 Iranian movies, which won awards, competed in the Iran section of NTFF 2018.  

Mohammad-Hadi Karimi's 'Human Comedy' received the Best Film award, while Arman Darvish starring in it also took home the Best Actor award.

The flick narrates the story of a man who tries to blend into the surrounding society and faces a strange fate.

Sara Bahrami was awarded the Best Actress for 'Italy Italy' directed by Kaveh Sabbaghzadeh.

A brief synopsis for the film reads, 'I love you and it is none of your business.'

Best director award has gone to Mohammad-Reza Kheradmandan for his movie '21 Days Later'.

 'It was pouring rain, the birds were screaming around their nests. One of the guys said he saw the sun getting dark and light once or twice.' a short synopsis for the movie reads.

And last but not least is the Best Cinematography award, which went to 'Season of Narges' directed by Negar Azarbaijani.  

NTFF, arranged for the first time in 2010, is a celebration of global Tamil cinema.

The festival, according to its website, hopes to contribute to raise understanding and respect across cultural barriers.

The 9th edition of Norway Tamil Film Festival was held April 26-29, 2018.
